Software Development Team Leader

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer Lead to lead our team of experienced software developers. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of our product and ensuring its successful delivery.
About the Role- This is a strategic role that requires a balance between technical expertise, people leadership, and project management.
- You will play a key part in shaping our company's technical vision and strategy.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in backend development with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and AWS. They should also have experience working with domains of medium to high complexity, as well as a solid understanding of web and mobile applications, including security, session management, and best development practices.
Key Responsibilities- To define team objectives and project goals, ensuring alignment with our company strategies.
- To facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- To recruit, train, and develop team members, fostering a productive environment.
- To collaborate with other technical leaders to align technology strategies and evolve our company's technical direction.
- To ensure technical quality of deliverables, providing guidance on complex problem-solving.
- To promote AI-assisted engineering practices within the squad, leveraging tools for code generation, automated refactoring, and technical documentation.
- To guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration in the team.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or software development disciplines.
- Proven track record of leading teams and working in product-driven companies.
- Hands-on experience in backend development (Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS) and optionally frontend development, with a track record of delivering scalable systems.
- Experience working with domains of medium to high complexity.
- A solid understanding of web and mobile applications, including security, session management, and best development practices.
Industry-Specific Knowledge:
As a Senior Backend Developer Lead, you bring practical familiarity with one or more core financial domains, such as lending, payments, credit cards, open finance, fraud prevention, merchant acquiring, or investment services.
You leverage this knowledge to guide the technical implementation of backend solutions, collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and business stakeholders, and ensure the team delivers solutions that are robust, compliant, and aligned with customer needs.
