The Senior Regulatory Specialist role is responsible for leading client-facing initiatives to expand and refine our content. This includes serving as the Point of Contact for requirements, deadlines, and deliverables. You'll work with Sales and Professional Services teams on documentation and pricing. This role will also take part in direct customer/prospect interaction and support client-facing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing an understanding of how Sovos simplifies regulatory compliance burden for clients
  • Supporting Product team in evolving solutions related to ancillary obligations
  • Analysing and interpreting technical notes related to electronic tax documents
  • Monitoring Tax Reform developments, focusing on the technology supporting the new tax model
  • Building proficiency with internal tools used to maintain system content and content management intricacies
  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding regulations
  • Undertaking assigned regulatory tracking and research assignments
  • Drafting accurate and well-reasoned responses to client inquiries
  • Developing a thorough understanding of complexities in your assigned jurisdictions
  • Building an understanding of Sovos product and service offerings and their relation to Regulation
  • Supporting larger departmental and organizational initiatives as needed
  • Independently producing high-quality research documentation and accurate content
  • Serving as a mentor to junior colleagues within the Department
  • Independently leading internal departmental initiatives
  • Consistently producing thoughtful and accurate responses to client inquiries and Sovos internal inquiries
  • Identifying and accounting for complex regulatory issues during research initiatives
  • Actively managing and leading distinct research and content projects
  • Providing independent support to cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Professional Services, Managed Services, and Product Development
  • Utilizing skills, knowledge, and creative thinking to address complex legal issues in our solutions
  • Working with the Management Team to drive process improvement initiatives
  • Serving as an ambassador of Sovos to the outside business community by developing relationships with regulators and industry peers
  • Serving as the Sovos-wide thought leader on complex Regulatory topics
  • Serving as a senior mentor and 'best example' to colleagues for all Sovos and Regulatory Core Values

This role requires 4-5 years of experience in a similar type of role, an earned reputation as a leader and subject matter expert, sustained commitment to organisational purpose and strategy, and expertise in regulatory research and content management.
