Accounting Manager Position

As a key member of our organization, the Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in managing financial activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position is responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Consolidate international subsidiary financial data.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Management team to ensure proper revenue recognition according to GAAP and healthcare billing standards.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Support laboratory operations by providing financial insights into test profitability, supply costs, and staffing expenses.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls.
  • Train and supervise accounting staff, delegating responsibilities and ensuring performance standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the clinical laboratory industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial principles, and accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with billing and collection software, such as Xifin, Telcor, or Quadax, preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.
  • Experience with ERP system implementations preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
