The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programme Assistant to support the implementation of a project focusing on sustainable urbanization in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The selected candidate will work closely with UN-Habitat's operational and technical teams, as well as national and international counterparts, to provide administrative and logistical support for project activities, including meetings, missions, and events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative and logistical support for project planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Assisting in the preparation, organization, and consolidation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Supporting coordination and communication among stakeholders, including national and international counterparts.
- Maintaining updated records and filing systems related to project activities.
The Programme Assistant will be responsible for completing all required courses and training activities, including security training. The consultant will also be expected to familiarize themselves with United Nations security mechanisms and comply with them according to the Framework of Accountability for the United Nations Security Management System.
Required Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, Architecture, Law, Geography, Economics, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience beyond the requirement.
Minimum three years of experience in urban-related themes or international cooperation is required. Professional and academic experience on themes related to urban policy and development, public policy, and urban development is essential.
Additionally, the Programme Assistant should have professional and academic experience in South-South Cooperation.
BenefitsThe selected candidate will receive a monthly allowance, upon presentation and approval by the Head of Brazil Office and OIC for Southern Cone Office of monthly activities' report.
