Expert System Support Lead

This role is perfect for an expert in system support who wants to take their skills to the next level. As a lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and stability of complex application systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Debug business-impacting issues by understanding intricate application systems.
  • Use incident management processes and tools, application monitoring metrics, and tooling to generate reports and take corrective actions.
  • Leverage your knowledge of different logging techniques to alert, monitor, and identify root causes of incidents.
  • Follow standards and best practices to bring operational efficiencies, stability, and availability to the system.
  • Lead planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and disruption to operations.
  • Implement continuous delivery practices to evolve and support high-quality software, bringing value to end customers as early as possible while working collaboratively with teams to build innovative customer experiences.
  • Efficiently use DevOps tools and practices to deploy and run software.
  • Act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through technical knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working in languages such as Java or .Net, with a good understanding of scripting languages like Python or Powershell.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience working with application monitoring tools like DataDog, Prometheus, or Grafana, including generating reports and taking corrective actions.
  • Experience working with relational or non-relational databases.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github, Actions, Buildkite, or Azure pipelines.
  • Strong debugging and triaging skills to troubleshoot code effectively.
  • Able to ensure high-quality deliverables, including bug fixes and enhancements to the existing codebase.
  • Conduct system performance analysis, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency.
  • Perform predictive analysis and proactively identify issues working with development teams.
  • High-level understanding of various architectures such as monolithic, N-tier, layered, microservices, and serverless.
