Daily Responsibilities

The Project Controls function is essential for ensuring that projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with established objectives. This role involves providing precise and timely data to the project management team, enabling informed decision-making and proactive measures to address potential challenges or trends. Project controls encompass the collection, management, and analytical processes necessary to forecast, comprehend, and positively influence project timelines and costs, through effective communication of information in formats that facilitate management and decision-making.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Business
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in large-scale global oil and gas projects, with exposure to EPC environments. Site experience is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of project controls principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong grasp of Earned Value Management techniques
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, with the capability to develop, maintain, and update comprehensive schedules; manage resources; ensure quality compliance; and produce detailed reports with thorough analyses highlighting areas of concern and potential recovery actions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Macros/Visual Basic, V-lookups, Pivot tables, and Sum if formulas, along with ERP experience (SAP, Oracle).

Key Responsibilities

  • **Schedule Ownership and Management**: Collaborate with the project management team to take full responsibility for the project schedule, including development, monitoring, and maintenance of relevant timelines.
  • **Schedule Reporting and Metrics**: Oversee all internal and external schedule reporting, including the development, tracking, and reporting of critical metrics. Work with project teams to identify and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
  • **Progress Monitoring and Reporting**: Prepare and maintain progress S-curves, manpower histograms, and overall percent complete/earned value as required. Some projects may necessitate supervision of field-installed quantities and site progress.
  • **Support for Claim Management**: Assist the Contract and Claims Manager in evaluating and documenting the effects of delays in deliverables and materials from various stakeholders. Utilize historical Project Controls data to support the claims management process and provide guidance on overall strategies.
  • **Risk and Opportunity Management**: Contribute to the project risk and opportunity register throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively identify potential risks and collaborate with the project team to develop and implement mitigation plans. Seek opportunities and assist in their development.
  • **Management of Contractual Requirements**: Aid the project team in producing, managing, and supervising contractual deliverables, including monthly reports, percent complete metrics, and S-Curves.
  • **Project Deliverables Oversight**: Support the project management team in tracking and managing applicable project deliverables. Assist with project audits as needed.
