Job Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) focusing on Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), your role will be pivotal in fostering essential interactions with Key Medical Experts, healthcare professionals, and other significant stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the clinical and scientific aspects of SMA within your designated region.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted medical and scientific authority, enhancing the confidence of healthcare providers in their clinical decision-making processes, ultimately benefiting patient care.
  • Customize discussions to deliver the most pertinent, credible, and impartial scientific data tailored to the specific needs of each healthcare provider and their patients, aligning with Biogen's clinical and medical initiatives.
  • Gather and relay valuable medical insights that contribute to the formulation of medical and clinical strategies.
  • Ensure the integration of medical insights into cross-functional account planning.
  • Develop and sustain strong educational partnerships with healthcare providers, researchers, and key medical institutions to promote exceptional product knowledge and medical scientific support.

Required Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a scientific or clinical field is essential.
  • A PharmD or PhD is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and advanced English is required.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison is essential.

Additional Information:

  • Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel as necessary.
  • Reports directly to the Therapeutic Area Head for SMA.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be based in one of the designated regions.
