  • Maximize the benefits of special regimes (RECOF, Drawback, Ex-Tariff, Temporary Admission), ensuring full compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with customs brokers and internal partners, guiding import/export transactions, master data quality, and broker performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce duty expenditures, enhance free trade agreement qualification, and automate processes.
  • Monitor and coordinate activities related to import and export flows: Ensure that all import and export operations comply with deadlines and legal and regulatory standards, coordinating the activities and deliveries of the Customs Broker.
  • Work with Customs Costs and Finance; Control import cost models, tax accruals, and reconciliations used in monthly/quarterly closings and annual budget cycles.
  • Prepare financial statements, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses related to customs with data accuracy exceeding 99%.
  • Administer RECOF-SPED, Drawback, Ex-Tariff, and similar programs (declarations, benefit monitoring, audits).
  • Identify and quantify new FTA or tax suspension opportunities; develop business cases for savings.
  • Master Data and Process Improvement; Maintain in-house HS codes, supplier origin, and product catalogs for customs purposes.
  • Use Excel (advanced), Power BI/Access, and automation tools to optimize reporting and controls.
  • Provide best practice training for cross-functional teams (Finance, Logistics, Taxation, Purchasing, Manufacturing).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal customers, customs authorities, and other foreign trade stakeholders: Build a strong network to ensure alignment and collaboration across all foreign trade processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Accounting, Economics, Logistics or related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience in customs or trade compliance, including import and export operations.
  • Proven track record with Brazilian special regimes (preferably RECOF) and customs financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel plus working knowledge of SAP, Siscomex and data-visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Solid grounding in HS classification, FTA rules, valuation and export-control concepts.
  • Intermediate English; Portuguese native or advanced.
  • Preferred: Experience leading project workstreams. Familiarity with global ERP trade-automation solutions and SQL reports or other process-simplification platforms.
What Success Looks Like
