Job Title: Project Management Specialist

As a seasoned professional in the field of project management, you will have the opportunity to lead complex projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for coordinating and completing large-scale customer-facing initiatives, overseeing all aspects of project delivery, and acting as the primary liaison between our engineering teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Manage projects through their complete life cycle, ensuring overall goals for both us and the client are met
  • Engineering Services Delivery: Successfully deliver engineering professional services for assigned projects
  • Custom Board Enablement: Work with engineering teams on custom board enablement and delivery of Ubuntu images to customers
  • Schedule Development: Assist in the development of project statements of work and draft/maintain project-specific schedules/project plans
  • Risk Mitigation: Obtain client agreement to the project schedule and agreed-upon work items, ensure projects are delivered within time/resource/scope expectations, and manage project risk mitigation and plans
  • Communication: Maintain daily and weekly communication with the client and all internal stakeholders
  • Critical Deliverables: Manage delivery schedule of critical third-party deliverables for the project
  • Status Updates: Keep management informed of the status of assigned projects

Requirements:

  • Project Management Experience: Solid experience in delivering engineering services to customers managing software development teams and field engineers
  • Cross-Cultural Project Management: Extensive experience successfully managing projects with cross-cultural and multi-continent internal and external project resources
  • Educational Background: Educational degree preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
  • Tech Knowledge: Good knowledge of Linux and the wider Open Source Software community, and understanding of computer architecture
  • Communications Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leader and problem solver with extensive experience building successful internal and external partnerships and effective working relationships with demanding project sponsors in complex organizational environments
  • Professional Certifications: PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification preferred
