Job Summary

As a Biomedical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of biomedical equipment. Your expertise in preventive maintenance, quality assurance, and troubleshooting will play a vital role in maintaining patient safety and delivering high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, biomedical engineering, or a related field. You should be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and possess a commitment to continuous learning.

  • Perform advanced levels of equipment maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and implement written procedures for medical equipment.
  • Review incident reports, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure patient safety.
  • Lead new equipment evaluations, acquisitions, and installations.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications for bids and capital purchases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and improve overall departmental performance.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electronic/electromechanical repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to respond to service calls in operating rooms and other clinical areas.
  • Proficiency in using computer software-based work order tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic test equipment and simulators.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • CBET certification is highly desirable.
