Job Description\

As a skilled electrical engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, testing, and commissioning electrical power systems. You will work closely with customers and engineering staff to ensure the successful installation and operation of these systems.

Your primary responsibility will be to train and assist customers in the planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems. This will involve working at customer sites as well as SEL offices.

\Required Skills and Qualifications\
  • \
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent certification, training, and experience\
  • 4+ years of working experience in electrical power system planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and/or maintenance\
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Autocad, Microstation, and/or AcSELerator Quickset and modern test equipment such as OMICRON or Doble\
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time\
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills\
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities\
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment\
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL\
  • Preferred qualifications: ability to write automated test plans for testing protective devices, familiarity with industry protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus)\
  • Physical requirements: ability to work in outside environments with varying climates, ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, climb, and use arm and hand movements, ability to carry tools and handle materials and equipment of up to 50 pounds, ability to work at heights on lifts, stepladders, and/or extension ladders\
