Strategic Finance Partner

Caterpillar seeks a strategic finance partner to drive business growth and profitability. This role involves providing insights and analysis to support strategic investment decisions.

This position requires the ability to think critically and strategically, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with various stakeholders to develop growth plans and strategies for regional expansion into additional product lines, segments, or parts of the value chain.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business units to prepare strategic investment proposals
  • Define growth plans and strategies for regional expansion into additional product lines, segments, or parts of the value chain
  • Perform enterprise-level analysis for large projects that span multiple business units
  • Work with financial teams to ensure proper methodology is followed
  • Ensure adherence to Enterprise Procedure 5:04 as it relates to capital asset acquisitions, leases, and M&A activity
  • Provide technical expertise and support business processes using business analysis techniques
  • Work with Business Units to resolve problems independently and act as a captain in business proposal development for all assigned programs
  • Understand, follow, and provide process improvements to the Enterprise Cost & Business Analysis Manual
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/corporate financing or accounting, economics, or mathematics; MBA, CPA, CFA, CMA preferred
  • 6-8 years of accounting, management consulting, or finance-related experience preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, initiative, interpersonal skills, and effective communication
  • Able to deal with conflicts, take an enterprise point of view, manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure with tight timelines, and lead with company values
  • Understanding of industry business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures
  • Power BI experience, or willingness to learn independently
Additional Details
  • This position requires occasional travel (5-10%) for domestic and international business opportunities
