Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, coordination, and review of designs and technical standards for our utility scale solar and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and review designs for our projects, including permitting and construction support, customer care, and sales support.
  • Manage the work of engineering services providers and consultants.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve technical specifications for our facilities and equipment.
  • Provide technical support for interconnection in collaboration with transmission engineering teams.
  • Support the performance and LCOE optimization process of our projects.
  • Complete technical site assessment reviews and pre-design site visits.

Technical Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience with engineering, procurement, and construction of utility scale solar PV systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of IEEE and other governing standards for design of solar PV systems.
  • Knowledge of solar and BESS project engineering, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and design optimization.
  • Knowledge of project contract terms, including PPAs, interconnection agreements, and real estate.
  • In-depth knowledge of either DC/AC electrical systems, HV equipment, civil design, or SAT structural design/calculations for utility scale solar projects.
  • Professional Engineer or equivalent regulatory body license is a plus.
