Electrical Research Engineer Role

The position of Electrical Research Engineer is available in our South America R&D Center, an organization leading continuous research and development activities on transformers.

You will join the R&D Team in Blumenau (Brazil), contributing to the development of projects related to electrical performance of distribution transformers and contribute to successful roadmap execution.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  2. Propose innovative ideas in the design of distribution transformers to meet technical requirements.
  3. Define experiments to validate proposed solutions.
  4. Design and supervise prototype manufacturing and testing.
  5. Lead project execution, ensuring performance, timelines, and costs are within expectations.
  6. Document project progress, draw conclusions, and develop design rules based on validated solutions.
  7. Protect validated solutions through intellectual property strategies.
  8. Support colleagues by analyzing and optimizing electrical designs in other projects.
  9. Provide technical support to factories, sales teams, and customers when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power machinery.
  • Solid knowledge in Power transformers and Electromagnetism.
  • Preferred tools and software: Creo, COMSOL, Maxwell.
  • Background in the energy sector or academic research is desirable.
  • Language: English (Advanced).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 15 days per year).
