Customs Operations Specialist Job

The role is focused on leading customs operations and maximizing the benefits of special regimes such as RECOF, Drawback, Ex-Tariff, and Temporary Admission. The position requires expertise in customs financial controls and hands-on experience in customs or trade compliance.

  • We are seeking a skilled professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide complete visibility of customs costs for GM Brazil, supporting monthly/annual closing, budget planning, and the preparation of highly accurate financial reports.
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SAP, Siscomex, and data-visualization tools like Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maximize the benefits of special regimes ensuring full compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison with customs brokers and internal partners guiding import/export transactions, master data quality, and broker performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce duty expenditures enhance free trade agreement (FTA) qualification, and automate processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Accounting, Economics, Logistics or related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience in customs or trade compliance including import and export operations.
  • Proven track record with Brazilian special regimes preferably RECOF and customs financial controls.
