Job Title: Data Governance Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of effective data governance strategies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential data sources, supporting data owners in cataloging activities, and helping customers understand data. They will also specify data models, map, and transform data to feed different use cases.

A key aspect of this role is evaluating external data sources based on business and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication and coordination abilities, and a good understanding of data cataloging, quality, and modeling concepts.

Additional qualifications include knowledge of agile management methodology, experience with data catalog and data quality tools, and proficiency in English. A basic understanding of semantics and experience with Azure Datalake are desirable but not required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential data sources and make sourcing decisions.
  • Support data owners in data cataloging activities by defining and approving business terms and linking them to cataloged datasets.
  • Help customers and data scientists understand data and clarify content of questions.
  • Specify data models, map, and transform data to feed different use cases.
  • Evaluate external data sources based on business and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to content-related guidelines based on business and technical requirements in alignment with the global functional data steward.
  • Monitor defined data quality KPIs for assets in the scope of responsibility.
  • Contribute to data maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in a business function-related field with a detailed understanding of business needs, processes, and corresponding data and data flows.
  • Affinity for setting up, maintaining, and sharing documentation and guidelines for data asset management.
  • High communication and coordination skills and understanding of the organization.
  • Good understanding of data cataloging, quality, and modeling concepts as well as reference and master data management.
  • BASIC understanding of semantics is an advantage.
  • Experience with agile management methodology Knowledge of LGPD DAMA DMBOK.
  • Experience with data catalog and data quality tools.
  • Ability to evaluate data sets regarding conformance with data policies, KPIs, etc.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
  • Knowledge in Azure Datalake.
