Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues and participating in negotiation discussions. To succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.

  • Provide legal assistance for business development, network construction and operation and compliance matters for logistics businesses in Brazil.
  • Research and analyze new business opportunities and models providing legal advice risk analysis and contract structure design and assist with relevant legal aspects.
  • Research and provide legal advice on different topics.
  • Draft review and revise various kinds of contracts and legal documents assist in commercial negotiation contract execution and performance supporting the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
  • Manage disputes and litigation/arbitration matters separately or externally assisted in handling emergency issues and providing practical solutions.
  • Select high quality cost effective external law firms and manage them well.
  • Provide legal support for other daily operational matters of local entities in Brazil.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in law or higher accredited from top ranked law schools in Brazil and bar admission in Brazil.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in leading law firms or multinational environments work experience in Chinese companies is preferred.
  • Experience in international logistics freight forwarding business and/or cross border e-commerce business.
  • Ability to function independently with moderate supervision and awareness when to involve global teams or external experts.
  • Ability to work well under pressure multi-task handle high volumes of work recognize priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent speaking writing and negotiating skills in English Portuguese and Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
  • Proactive team player ability to adapt to changes.
