Legal Counsel Role

Job Description:

The Legal Counsel is a pivotal role responsible for reviewing and negotiating sales agreements, ensuring compliance with country-level legal requirements, internal policies, and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Sales teams in reviewing client negotiations, requests for quotes, and proposals, preparing and negotiating contract terms within corporate guidelines.
  • Review and negotiate sales contracts, purchase orders, amendments, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Manage contractual relationships within assigned territories.
  • Communicate contractual requirements to internal stakeholders and capture negotiated clauses.
  • Collaborate with the legal team on negotiation strategies and finalize agreements.
  • Support the team in organizing presentations during annual legal trainings for sales.
  • Resolve inquiries from the finance team regarding booking and accounts receivables issues.
  • Negotiate with senior client management to protect interests.

Requirements:

  • University degree in law (JD, LLB, LLM equivalent) and approximately 5-7 years of experience as an in-house counsel focused on contract negotiations.
  • License with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
  • Professional proficiency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
  • Strong contract reading comprehension and interpretive skills.
  • Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Experience with public tenders, data privacy, and client-facing contract negotiations is desired but not required.
