Pharmacy Technician Role Overview

This is a highly rewarding role that involves assisting pharmacists with patient care, medication management, and other healthcare-related tasks. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in managing patient health by following company procedures and SOPs.
  • Ensure accurate and safe prescription fulfillment by adhering to pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
  • Provide empathetic and personalized care to patients by creating heartfelt moments while serving them at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset and being receptive to feedback.
  • Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program.
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
