Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to serve as a representative in a key location. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the country office, ensuring effective use of human and financial resources, and promoting sustainable development practices.

The role involves working closely with national authorities, partners, and stakeholders to advance FAO's mandate and achieve food security and sustainable agriculture goals. A strong understanding of agricultural development, forestry, fishery, or rural development is essential, along with experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field programs.

As a representative, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, collaborate with international organizations, and build partnerships with governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) in an area related to FAO's activities;
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field programs;
  • Working knowledge (proficient - Level C) of Spanish and English;
  • Experience in resource mobilization, negotiating and cooperating with national governments, intergovernmental organizations, and other institutions.
