Strategic Market Access Leader

The Strategic Market Access Leader will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive market access strategy for our organization in the South Cone region. This role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare market, strong leadership skills, and effective influencing capabilities to work with various stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, government agencies, healthcare providers, payers, NGOs, and media.

The goal is to position our organization as an innovative, value-based biopharmaceutical company and uphold its reputation while ensuring access to its therapies for patients in the South Cone region. The role encompasses responsibilities over market access, public & government affairs, patient advocacy, communications, social responsibility, and crisis management.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in pharma industry leading market access strategies and corporate affairs. A deep understanding of the local healthcare system in the South Cone region is an advantage. Strong scientific and business acumen backgrounds are required.

This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with various external stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, patient advocacy groups, healthcare providers, industry associations, NGOs/NPOs, academic institutions, and media. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and communicate effective market access strategies, applying advanced techniques in complex situations.

The key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and engage the market access and corporate affairs teams. Foster talent development and capability building, applying organizational behaviors to cultivate a positive culture.
  • Market Access Strategy: Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for pipeline and in-line products & treatments. These plans should align with short and long-term business objectives, ensuring our products are accessible to patients in the South Cone region.
  • Corporate Affairs Strategy: Develop and execute a corporate affairs strategy for our organization's South Cone Cluster. This strategy should align with the Cluster Aspiration Plan, global/corporate affairs, and adhere to our vision, mission, and values.
  • Payer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key payers, including government agencies, private insurers, and healthcare providers to secure optimal reimbursement and formulary placement.
  • Healthcare Policy: Engage with key decision-makers to shape policies and regulations that promote sustainable healthcare innovation and patient access. Identify collaboration opportunities with relevant third-party organizations to improve patient outcomes and drive healthcare system efficiency and resilience.
