Regional Environment, Health and Safety Specialist

Description:

The Regional Environment, Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of robust EHS practices across LATAM.

This role assists in the development and implementation of EHS programs, contributes to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, and ensures alignment with international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

Key responsibilities include overseeing EHS compliance and initiatives across LATAM, developing safety, health and environmental programs, providing administrative support to management and service areas, conducting risk assessments and hazard identification, leading emergency response planning and regulatory monitoring, informing and training personnel on safe practices, managing environmental licensing and documentation, promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement, and tracking and reporting EHS data and KPIs.

Qualification requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field, advanced degree or relevant certifications considered a plus, experience supporting EHS activities in industrial or service sectors ideally across LATAM, strong knowledge of EHS regulations in LATAM countries with emphasis on Brazil, Peru and Mexico, familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards, demonstrated skills in risk assessment, incident investigation and regulatory compliance, involvement in emergency response, sustainability and process improvement initiatives, ability to work with KPIs and assist management teams, ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, and willingness to travel for short periods including internationally up to 25% of the time based on needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications considered a plus
  • Experience supporting EHS activities in industrial or service sectors ideally across LATAM
