Medical Information Specialist Role Overview

This Medical Information Specialist position is part of a global medical information contact center. The role follows all regulations, industry standards and internal policies regarding medical information and adverse events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responds to customer requests for medical and safety information via various channels on behalf of pharmaceutical clients.
  • Provides accurate and compliant medical/safety information responses in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Documents and reports adverse events, pregnancy reports and product complaints in a clear and concise manner per government regulations and company guidelines.
  • Ensures tasks are completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Formulates and provides accurate responses utilizing approved labeling and standard responses, published literature and data.
  • Logs all enquiries into an accurate and comprehensive system.
  • Performs quality checks on Adverse Events, correspondence and enquiries logged into the system.
  • Provides after-hours coverage as required.
  • Adheres to company privacy policies and manages confidential information related to ProPharma and its clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Nursing degree (RN/BS/BA/MS) mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to write in English.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong cognitive abilities, including critical thinking and analytical ability.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive with problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
