About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Manager to join our Consumer Electronics team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving vendor relationships, and increasing product category sales.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Insights

You will be responsible for holding category-specific knowledge about customers and their needs, emerging product trends, market segment evolution, and new business opportunities. This will involve working closely with specialized teams to gather customer and category information and insights.

  1. Vendor Management

You will be the ultimate owner of the vendor relationship, with a direct focus on the top vendors that drive the vast majority of sales. Your responsibilities will include auditing and escalating vendor performance, improving overall terms and cost structures of the relationship through negotiation, and developing long-term partnerships with new and existing vendors to drive topline and selection fueling category growth.

  1. Central and Functional Teams

As a business owner, you will represent customer and business needs in interaction with central teams, projects, and initiatives. You will drive central teams for the evolution of customer-facing and internal systems to improve the customer experience from the category perspective. Additionally, you will implement centrally driven initiatives within the category to drive CX or cost improvements, prioritize based on impact and potential tradeoffs, and if need be, push back on selected initiatives.

A Day in the Life

As a Retail Manager, you will be an owner of the Retail business. You will be responsible for managing inputs by driving selection, securing great prices, and increasing convenience/speed to accelerate Amazon's flywheel. You will focus your activities on our most strategically relevant vendors and holdouts, while auditing and escalating the performance of lower-tiered vendors.

Requirements
  1. Previous experience working with consumer electronics
  2. Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing, and promotion or inventory management
  3. Account management, project, or program management
  4. Master's degree
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
  6. Experience using data to influence business decisions
  7. Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  8. Experience with business analysis and P&L management
  9. Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
