Senior Event Controller

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the budget and forecast process for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 project lifecycle as a Senior Event Controller in Brazil.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare an accurate and comprehensive budget for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, capturing operational costs for successful tournament delivery.
  • Implement financial planning and reporting tools, providing hands-on training to stakeholders in Brazil.
  • Develop cash flow forecast requirements for Brazilian operational budget.
  • Lead financial planning and budget review processes in Brazil, working closely with stakeholders.
  • Present quarterly forecast outcomes and recommended corrective actions to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the accrual process at year-end, supporting the accounting teams.
  • Review monthly cost allocations and prepare re-allocation journals when required.
  • Develop monthly management reports with insightful commentary for stakeholders.
  • Monitor and maintain monthly cash flow forecasts, ensuring liquidity needs are met.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and prepare additional financial reports as requested by senior management.
Your Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis is necessary.
  • Experience in event organization in a financial role, preferably in major sport events or similar projects.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with financial planning and reporting tools.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
  • International experience is highly desirable.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Business fluent in English; any other language is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for business partnering.
  • Proactive hands-on approach to problem solving with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word & PowerPoint presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Right to work in Brazil is required.
  • Ability to relocate to Rio de Janeiro is necessary.
