Procurement Strategist Role Overview

This role is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and take on a key position in the procurement function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies, programs, and policies for assigned subcategories and commodities, ensuring optimal total cost of ownership (TCO), quality, delivery, sustainability, and innovation.

  • Negotiate purchases of raw materials, paper, and packaging, seeking the best conditions for the company.
  • Contact suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, place sample purchase orders for testing, and participate in follow-ups when escalated by the supply chain team.
  • Develop and approve new suppliers, ensuring the quality and compliance of products.
  • Prepare and present various reports to the global procurement team, providing insights and relevant information for decision-making.
  • Manage product quality complaints with suppliers, including follow-up and negotiation of agreed values.
  • Participate in meetings with suppliers, both in-person and online, to discuss contracts, negotiations, and other related matters.
  • Perform price comparisons and data collection to support presentations and negotiations.
  • Verify prices and volumes compared to invoiced receipts to ensure the accuracy of transactions.
Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate purchases of raw materials, paper, and packaging, seeking the best conditions for the company.
  2. Contact suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, place sample purchase orders for testing, and participate in follow-ups when escalated by the supply chain team.
  3. Develop and approve new suppliers, ensuring the quality and compliance of products.
  4. Prepare and present various reports to the global procurement team, providing insights and relevant information for decision-making.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5-7 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Possession of a degree in economics, business administration, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong negotiation and cost-benefit analysis skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, analytical approach, project management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Mandatory fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferential consumer goods experience.
  • Data's management – Excel and data analytics experience.
  • Power BI experiences.
  • Raw materials experience buying papers and petrochemicals derivatives.
  • Project management experienced.
