The Legal Counsel is a pivotal role within our organization, overseeing the negotiation, review, and drafting of business and commercial contracts, license agreements, settlements, and NDAs. This position ensures that contracts are in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate and draft simple to complex business and commercial contracts;
- Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies;
- Monitor contract process to ensure compliance;
- Act as a liaison between organization and vendors;
- Assess commercial risks of contracts;
- Provide general legal advice and interpret contracts;
- Manage and oversee Regulatory Compliance department;
- Draft and prepare certain policies and regulatory reporting;
- Act as a liaison between organization and outside counsel;
- College degree from an accredited law school;
- 5-8 years experience in house, law firm, governmental agency, and or self-regulatory organization experience;
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills;
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask with accuracy and attention to detail;
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff;
- Ability to work autonomously and part of a team;
- Solid project management skills;
