The Territory Manager plays a pivotal role in securing business through technical support and consultative selling within the industrial automation industry.
This position reports to the Outside Sales Manager and is responsible for identifying and cultivating strategic relationships, conducting customer presentations, and collaborating with internal and external teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sales of automation solutions within an assigned territory.
- Develop new customers through leads and business development.
- Follow up on quotations and persuade customers.
- Work independently, remain responsive to management.
- Facilitate sales forecasting and input into CRM (Salesforce).
Requirements:
- Self-management and multi-tasking skills.
- Technical knowledge of automation products; willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Experience with Profit 21 and Salesforce is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 3+ days/week within a 50-mile radius.
- Overnight travel for training as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BS, BSME, BSEE) or equivalent experience.
- Mechanical and/or electro-mechanical aptitude.
- 2-5 years of industrial/automation sales experience preferred.
