Occupational Health and Environmental Specialist


Job Overview:

The role of Occupational Health and Environmental Specialist is crucial in ensuring the well-being of personnel, preventing environmental hazards, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Safety Plans: Create and maintain discipline-specific plans and other relevant documentation to meet applicable requirements and expectations.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert advice and support to project/operations teams on occupational health and environmental matters.
  • Client Liaison: Act as a focal point for your discipline with clients within assigned projects/operations.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate project/operations issues to your discipline manager as required.
  • Vendor Selection: Contribute to the qualification and selection of vendors/sub-contractors.
  • Audit and Verification: Lead or conduct internal and external verifications/surveys/audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and tools by providing feedback and lessons learned to discipline community and process owners.
  • Incident Reporting: Report incidents and monitor assigned actions.
  • Investigation Participation: Participate in incident investigations as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and align with relevant stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance of projects, operations, vendors, and sub-contractors in relation to your discipline.

Requirements:
  • Degree: Degree in Environmental, Safety, Emergency, or Occupational Hygiene Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience as a team leader/manager.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English.
