The Senior Health and Safety Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as maintaining a proactive approach to safety culture. This involves conducting risk assessments, implementing security policies, and communicating HSE policies and procedures to employees.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Brasilian health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to engineering consulting companies working in oil and gas industry onshore and offshore, construction of infrastructures, marine consultancy.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure adherence.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies and procedures, promoting employee awareness and understanding.
- Training and Education: Create educational materials and deliver training programs to enhance employee knowledge of health and safety issues.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for emergencies.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas of non-compliance.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on HSE performance for management and regulatory authorities.
- 5+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles, particularly in oil and gas industry, infrastructure construction.
- Occupational Safety Technician qualification in accordance with Brazilian legislation Regulatory Standard NR4.
- Lead Auditor ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certificates.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effectively conveying HSE policies and procedures to employees and regulatory bodies.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other departments and teams in integrating HSE considerations into daily operations.
