RINA is seeking an experienced professional to fill a crucial position in its Rio de Janeiro office. This role will play a pivotal part in the organization’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and protocols, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective security strategies. They must possess excellent communication skills, both in Portuguese and English, as well as strong collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
Responsibilities:- Stay updated on local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and prevent incidents.
- Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies; communicate and ensure understanding and adherence.
- Train and educate teams on HSE best practices, creating educational materials and promoting awareness.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans; organize drills and exercises.
- Conduct inspections and address identified issues, analyzing data and preparing reports for management and authorities.
- Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and HR departments to integrate HSE considerations.
- Manage environmental programs, implementing impact reduction strategies.
- Communicate HSE issues effectively, fostering a safety culture.
- Continuously improve processes, staying informed on best practices and pursuing certifications.
- Maintain accurate records for inspections and audits.
