About the Role

Amazon Brazil is seeking an experienced strategic communications professional to lead our consumer communications efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications programs to create awareness across our key audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage communications for our retail business, including strategic communications plans for core retail areas.
  • Develop industry-leading integrated consumer campaigns around key retail moments, such as Prime Day and Black Friday.
  • Support strategic launches and drive communications strategies to support our membership program, Amazon Prime.
  • Successfully manage complex communications challenges and issues/media inquiries related to the Retail business in Amazon Brazil.
  • Write strategic plans, messaging, and press releases; pitch and secure top-tier media.
  • Act as a business partner to Amazon retail category leadership teams across key areas.
  • Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal executives on both short and long-term challenges and opportunities.
  • Build excellent relationships with key media outlets and effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams globally and manage external PR and content development agencies.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience developing and implementing brand communications strategies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Portuguese language skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Brazilian business cultures.
  • Extensive experience managing cross-channel campaigns with strong media contacts and social elements in consumer areas.
  • Experience with digital and social media, as well as influencer marketing and issues management.
  • Strong understanding of measuring the impacts and benefits of communications programs.
  • Experience in managing agencies and budgets.
  • University degree.

  • Consumer communications expert with a demonstrated insight for what works for a brand and a strong contact book.
  • Strategic and creative, ensuring that communications activity delivers against business objectives.
  • Tactically aware, knowledgeable about what's going on in the media, social media, and on the site.
  • Proactive, enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen.
  • Organized, able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing essential admin work.
  • Acts as a leader, able to inspire agencies to deliver and demonstrate responsibility for communications to senior managers.
  • Adaptable, able to work in a corporate environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work done.
  • Moves fast, strong bias for action but maintains exceptionally high standards on the work and the results.
