Business Development Specialist

This role is critical to enhancing the relationship between Finance and STS business. As an experienced commercial accountant, you will collaborate closely with Regional Finance Management Accountants to produce comprehensive reporting packs and facilitate financial understanding within the business through key stakeholder relationships.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen and be able to work effectively with South America Regional Director, providing value-added financial information, communicating proposals and suggestions, monitoring auditing results, and producing KPIs where required to support the business in making informed strategic decisions.
- Ensure that transactions are posted and recorded accurately in accordance with IFRS and Brazil GAAP by working closely with Management Accountants.
- Work collaboratively with Management Accountants to ensure that transactions are posted and recorded accurately in accordance with relevant direct and indirect taxation for Brazil.
- Account correctly for taxation in all business units with the support of our Group Tax department.
- Implement improvements to internal processes, systems, and controls within the finance function and wider business.
- Support internal and external audit and statutory accounts process.
- Oversee the production of a complete set of Consolidated Brazil Accounts (PL, BS, and TBs) including Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Stock, along with consolidation into our group reporting system and reconciliation.
- Lead the production of budgets and forecasts, including balance sheet and cashflow, ensuring accuracy and timely production with meaningful commentary on variances.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of issues, working with Head of Finance to resolve.
- Consolidate and add commentary to Flash sales reports.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and projects as required.
- Respond to demands from Divisional Finance FD and Head of Finance, ensuring clear communication and alignment with internal policies.
- Monitor and manage impacts of exchange rate variations on operations, proposing hedging strategies to mitigate risks.
- Work on systems integration and improvements in BI tools, promoting dynamic analysis and faster decision-making.
