Lead Data Scientist

About this role:

We are looking for a skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our team. As a member of the ASTRA team, you will be part of a cross-functional team working on advanced analytics projects that assist clients daily.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing state-of-the-art recommendation and conversation engines using machine learning tools like Python, AWS, and ML techniques.
  • Researching the latest developments in AI research and technology, actively incorporating new techniques and approaches to maintain leadership in innovation.
  • Working with your team to provide, interpret, and predict necessary metrics for decision-making.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify, design, develop, and implement advanced analytical projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in recommendation engines, NLP, and/or conversation systems.
  • Strong experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
  • Fluency in Python - including popular data science packages (pandas, scikit-learn, etc) and quality tests.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and methods used in the data science field.
  • Experience with machine learning model development and deployment.
  • Knowledge of natural language processing and conversation engines.
  • Experience with recommendation systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Desirable skills include:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Interest in LLMs, Generative AI, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
