The Role

As a Senior Product Manager, you will take on a pivotal role with significant opportunities to influence our teams, clients, and the organization as a whole. This position combines essential elements of product stewardship from Agile frameworks with a comprehensive product strategy and client management approach, leveraging your technical knowledge. Your expertise will be crucial in understanding client requirements, converting business needs into actionable tasks for our development teams, and collaborating with a diverse group of designers, strategists, developers, and quality assurance engineers to realize the client's vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong, trustworthy relationships with key client stakeholders, earning recognition as a reliable advisor.
  • Guide client discussions regarding product vision and user requirements.
  • Gather requirements and manage intricate requirement backlogs that encompass various platforms.
  • Foster a shared understanding of product requirements among all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Develop a strategic product roadmap that takes into account business value, technical considerations, dependencies, and budgetary constraints.
  • Facilitate discussions around scope management and feature prioritization.
  • Collaborate with product designers to craft exceptional user experiences that are both feasible and aligned with technical limitations.
  • Conduct or support client journey mapping, user story mapping, and other product-focused workshops.
  • Lead technical discussions with engineers to define system architecture and data flows that will guide feature development.
  • Utilize analytics and metrics to inform decision-making and enhance product strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for product enhancement and improved user experiences.
  • Manage and document technical dependencies and API requirements.
  • Contribute significantly to the promotion of best practices, skills development, and process enhancement.
  • Mentor fellow Product Managers, either informally or formally.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the software development sector as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, Requirements Manager, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience working with stakeholders to gather and define requirements across multiple platforms: iOS, Android, Web, Backend technologies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the varying capabilities across iOS, Android, Web, and TV platforms.
  • Solid grasp of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and their integration into product development processes for enhanced inclusivity and compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying roles and technical backgrounds.
  • Experience in shaping product vision, go-to-market strategies, and UI/UX discussions.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new technologies and comprehend constraints and platform-specific risks.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills, with proficiency in user stories, acceptance criteria, flow diagrams, API documentation, and other requirements documentation methods.
  • In-depth technical knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of product development processes from concept to launch, including frontend and backend technologies (e.g., web/native apps, APIs, databases).
  • Proven ability to facilitate scrum ceremonies (e.g., Stand-ups, Refinement, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives) to ensure successful software development cycles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in initiating new features and designs, leading to efficient project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strong intuition for user experience and the ability to empathize with users of your product.
  • Experience as a mentor and leader who fosters a safe environment where all ideas are valued and considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an agency or consulting environment with a diverse range of clients and industries.
  • Understanding of the differences in capabilities across iOS, Android, Web, and TV platforms.
  • Experience with product research and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX platforms and design thinking methodologies.
  • Certified ScrumMaster and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner.
