Our department is responsible for recruiting talented individuals to support Howard University's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop financial aid packages for prospective and current students, ensuring a seamless student experience.
  • Provide in-depth training to new counselors on packaging procedures, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee the financial aid process for all online and on-campus Professional Programs, maintaining the highest level of integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Management Team and Student Finance to ensure correct tuition set-ups, promoting efficient operations.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Operations and Customer Service for Graduate and Professional Programs and requires strong internal and external communication skills, interacting with students, faculty, staff, student advocates, government agencies, community organizations, legislative representatives, scholarship organizations, foundations, and the public.

Accountabilities:
  • Thoroughly analyze FAFSA data for graduate students to determine federal aid eligibility, exercising professional judgment when necessary.
  • Monitor enrollment during drop/add periods, adjusting aid budgets and financial aid accordingly to ensure timely support.
  • Conduct informative webinars/workshops, group financial aid orientations, debt management sessions, and individual exit sessions for all professional students, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

Accurately utilize Banner, Workday, CRM, SharePoint, U.S. Department of Education systems and databases, and Colleague tools to monitor, process, and adjust financial aid awards as required.
