Financial Aid Administrator Job Description

  • The main goal of this role is to determine student eligibility for financial aid and oversee all phases of the financial aid process.

  • This includes managing federal, campus-based, and alternative financial aid programs.

  • You will work with students, staff, and faculty to ensure that all necessary data exchange processes are performed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs analysis, financial aid packaging, budgeting, counseling, and problem resolution for financial aid applicants.

  • Use professional judgment in accordance with federal regulations, U.S. Department of Education guidelines, and university standards.

  • Process electronic data using suitable technology and software.

  • Review and edit electronic applicant data as well as other relevant information.

  • Verify accuracy of Pell payments by checking data from Records, Student Financial Services, U.S. Department of Education, and all federal regulated sources.

  • Resolve duplicate Pell and Direct Loan disbursements.

  • Solve Pell Overpayment awards (POP) and Multiple Record Reporting (MRR) between reporting institutions.

  • Complete entrance and exit interviews for direct loan recipients, along with clearing related holds.

  • Import and export records via EdConnect – ISIR records, Master Promissory Notes (MPN), Entrance/Exit Counseling, Pell disbursements, Loan disbursements, reconciliation reports via COD, etc.

  • Manage and maintain records to meet U.S. Department of Education requirements.

  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in financial aid processing or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Direct Loans, Pell, reconciliation, award processing, and Banner.

Expected Pay Range: $81,818 - $90,000
