Job Responsibilities

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for effectively delivering tasks to a high standard and supporting various projects of all sizes and dimensions.

They handle commissions of varying sizes, depending on project complexity, and can work as part of a larger team or as the key contact point with the client.

They help set up overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters, project governance, planning, processes, and systems.

Candidates should have experience in the Oil and Gas sector with knowledge of aspects such as Civil-Structural and Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaboration with stakeholders for accurate updates on the engineering, procurement, and construction phases will be key to the project's success.
  • Preparation and maintenance of the project Basis of Schedule.
  • Establishment and management of the project master schedule for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Application of resource loading for establishing optimal crew/staffing plans.
  • Calculation and management of Earned Value KPIS and progress tracking with S curves.
  • Learning and implementation of the scheduling specifications of the owner.
  • Coordination of project progress tracking with the GC in all stages of the value chain.
  • Ensuring project schedule activities are coded by the project work breakdown structure and interfaced to controls systems for progress/forecast updates and analysis.
  • Establishment of the project critical path and continuation of analysis and reporting throughout the project.
  • Incorporating required scope changes and trends into the project schedule.
  • Analysis of impacts and deviations and proposition of mitigation measures.
  • Providing client and internal weekly, bi-weekly/monthly reporting inputs of plan vs actual and any forecast mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance with relevant Owner policies and procedures and work within legal and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office Package (Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Primavera P6.
  • Fluent in English.
