About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applied Research Scientist to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs in São Paulo. As an Applied Research Scientist, you will play a key role in driving innovation and advancing the state-of-the-art in natural language processing and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cutting-edge NLP and ML systems to solve complex problems in the industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research projects that align with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software and models, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
  • Communicate research findings and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and ML, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in NLP and ML. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline or Master's degree with a comparable level of experience.
  • At least one year of industry experience building IR/NLP/ML systems.
  • Solid software engineering skills for prototyping.
  • Outstanding communication and data analysis skills.
