Thomson Reuters Labs is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Research Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our data-driven capabilities, focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning to facilitate transformative changes within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Deliver: Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, utilizing modern practices to build, test, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Create Scalable ML Solutions: Design extensive data processing pipelines to assist researchers in developing and training innovative machine learning algorithms, ensuring high performance in large-scale online environments.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Foster a team-oriented atmosphere by sharing knowledge, valuing diverse perspectives, and partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Embrace Agility: Maintain a strong sense of urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, delivering timely solutions.
  • Innovate: Feel empowered to explore new methodologies and technologies, contributing fresh ideas and taking ownership of end-to-end project deliveries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, particularly in machine learning and natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Deep understanding of Python and familiarity with additional programming languages.
  • Ability to implement and integrate machine learning techniques into existing systems.
  • Experience with the Python data science ecosystem, including libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, and Pandas.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Desire to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic models and foundational mathematical concepts in machine learning.
  • Experience in deploying machine learning solutions in production environments.
  • Proficiency in automation and cloud-native applications, with knowledge of platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Exposure to Natural Language Processing tasks, including Named Entity Recognition and Information Retrieval.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between research and engineering methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with various programming and scripting languages.
