Thomson Reuters Labs is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Research Engineer to spearhead initiatives in our new Lab. This role is pivotal for leveraging expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to enhance our data-driven capabilities, fostering transformation within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement: You will engage in the complete software development lifecycle, utilizing modern practices to create, test, and deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Develop Scalable ML Systems: Your role will involve constructing extensive data processing pipelines that empower researchers to build and refine innovative machine learning algorithms.
  • Collaborate Effectively: You will thrive in a team-oriented environment, sharing insights and valuing diverse perspectives while partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Embrace Agility: With a proactive mindset, you will navigate a fast-paced setting, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with other programming languages.
  • Ability to integrate and deploy Machine Learning capabilities into existing systems.
  • Experience with the Python data science ecosystem, including libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
  • Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Understanding of probabilistic models and the mathematical principles behind machine learning.
  • Experience with ModelOps and MLOps principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Exposure to Natural Language Processing tasks, including Named Entity Recognition and Information Retrieval.
  • Hands-on experience with additional programming languages like Java or JavaScript.
