About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead and oversee all financial controller activities in the region, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that accounting and financial practices in the region are aligned with corporate policies and local regulations, providing strategic support to decision making at senior management level.

This position aims to drive business growth by streamlining financial processes, improving forecasting and analysis capabilities, and enhancing stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in financial leadership roles, with expertise in IFRS and local accounting standards.

The role is part of a newly created finance team responsible for setting up the overall Corporate Finance and Finance Controlling function of the organization. We are creating an agile, entrepreneurial and results-oriented team with an emphasis on action, accountability, local ownership and care for each other.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring monthly financial reporting aligns with IFRS and group policies across regional entities
  • Preparing annual statutory accounts and meeting local compliance requirements
  • Maintaining accurate monthly accounts by managing shared service providers
  • Reviewing key balance sheet reconciliations and approving high-risk financial assumptions
  • Final sign-off on regional trial balances and balance sheets
  • Analyzing trends and deviations in financial results vs. forecasts and budgets
  • Managing reconciliation between statutory and management accounts
  • Coordinating internal and external audits and implementing recommendations

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving process improvements, identifying cost savings opportunities, and developing and maintaining strong internal financial controls. They will also be expected to stay updated on IFRS changes and group developments affecting reporting and consolidation.

We are looking for a results-driven professional with excellent leadership skills, who can motivate and inspire a team to deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in financial leadership roles, with expertise in IFRS and local accounting standards.
