Are you looking to cover the most dynamic, important commodity story in the world? Uncover what goes into making what ends up on your plate? Bloomberg is seeking an enterprising reporter to cover agriculture markets in Brazil, with a focus on coffee, sugar and ethanol. We want someone who can break the biggest stories in a key supplier to the world while also being able to chronicle the vast changes happening in what we eat and how it"s grown. You'll be expected to perform independently at the highest standards, while also enthusiastically supporting bureau and group efforts and collaborating across teams and regions. We'll trust you to: - Develop a strong network of sources to break news on companies, deals and trade flows across Brazil, Latin America and the globe - Break news on changing dynamics in how food is produced, sold, moved and consumed; chronicle the interaction between commodities markets and economics/government policy in Brazil. - Explore the impact of climate change on farmers and the role of biofuels in energy - Find out who is being hired and fired at commodities trading houses. - Craft coverage for both expert Bloomberg clients and a broader readership. You'll need to have: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. - Experience reporting news in a real-time, breaking news environment. Some agriculture markets or industry knowledge is a bonus. - Ability to write quickly and concisely under deadline pressure. - Proven ability to make and build sources. - Fluency in English and Portuguese Bloomberg is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
