Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in Policy, Operations, Legal, Program Management, or Product
- Ability to speak and write in English and Portuguese fluently

Preferred qualifications:

- Graduate degree in Legal or Policy fields
- Experience in creating and crafting policy recommendations and implementation strategy
- Knowledge about the LATAM mobile ecosystem
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicate clearly and effectively with multiple and diverse stakeholders across businesses, leadership, and teams
- Deep interest in technology/internet and related policy issues

**About the job**:
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

The Play, Android, and Chrome Web Store Policy team’s mission is to promote a positive experience for users and developers. You will help work toward this by developing and implementing fair and consistent policies, and by protecting the online safety of our users.

We balance freedom of expression, access to information, brand impact, and user experience to translate Google's principles into fair and consistent guidelines for our users' content and behavior on our product platforms.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Trust and Safety teams, and Engineers to influence product decisions, prioritization, and improve user experience for policy-related issues.
- Develop, support the implementation, and analyze the effectiveness of Policy by acting as a thought partner with various product and policy areas.
- Be an expert in your assigned product and policy areas.
- Resolve high-profile policy issues and escalations from users, the media, government, and internal stakeholders.
- Shape the product design to build user's trust, minimize harm, and be consistent with Google’s core principles and values.
