Essential Job Functions:

  • Interfacing with international suppliers and carriers;
  • Managing and monitoring cargo during local transportation (Door to CFS);
  • Monitoring and updating logistics performance indicators;
  • Resolving problems related to delays, damages and non-conformities in the logistics process;
  • Direct contact with international suppliers to align shipping deadlines and conditions;
  • Coordinating and monitoring sea and air import processes;
  • Issuing and checking import documents, such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, among others;
  • Sending shipping confirmation and arrival notification;
  • Providing cargo information to the customer, updating internal information systems – import monitoring;
  • Analyzing and preparing reports;
  • Recording incidents.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledgeable of warehouse operations and freight/logistics optimization;
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and presentation skills;
  • Ability to develop and document processes and procedures;
  • Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling and relating sets of numbers;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, respond to questions from senior management, and manage through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude and professionalism;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Foreign Trade or related field required;
  • Minimum 2 years related experience;
  • Minimum 1 year industry experience preferred.
