Demand Manager Brazil

Lead the process of generation and market sign-off on the most reliable forecast possible for all products in the market or markets under his/her responsibility, through coordination of cross functional teams to deliver inputs, make business decisions and agree on volumes based on quality data analysis. Provide visibility required for improvement of supply and financial planning processes aiming to optimize inventory level, avoid write-offs and improve customer service. The process is a core activity towards delivering the right product to our consumers when they need it and at the right cost. Demand Manager should be a key stakeholder for the GM and the LT of the market or markets under his/her responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • To lead the process of generating an unconstrained and constrained forecast in a monthly basis. This is the core activity in the IBP process.
  • To allow monthly validation of the performance of the business and allow decisions to achieve the commercial objectives integrated with Finance P&L by identifying, analyzing, and defining actions to cover risks or gaps against the Plan.
  • Manage end to end demand forecasting process across all brands to improve forecast accuracy and therefore enhance customer service levels in line with external benchmarks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver sales gap closing opportunities as required.
  • Define key forecasting roles and accountabilities across the business to align Sales,  Marketing, Trade and Finance functions and develop 'one number' mindset to drive business decision making and forecast transparency / functional accountability.
  • Unbiased and neutral Business Partner to General Manager and LT.
  • Establish and embed the revised Demand Forecasting processes to support the Supply Chain Operating model and Core Commercial Cycle.
  • Establish processes to support key account and trade channel specific forecast capability to drive enhanced service levels and reduced working capital requirements.
  • Manage Demand Forecasting input into the key IBP meetings including Demand Review / Supply review and regional S&OP meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate identification and understanding of demand forecast changes against short- and long-term horizons to support effective supply chain action and provide key inputs to support E2E Supply Chain thinking and effective decision making.
  • Seamless handover of demand forecast and relevant market intelligence to supply planning hubs to facilitate optimal inventory levels to support the business.
  • Integrate Trade Spend/Net Sales inputs to ensure forecast decisions prioritize cost effective, net sales delivery.
  • Contribute to and lead significant projects to transform the operating model, and deliver the benefits required including gross to net, complexity reduction, cost of goods, working capital reductions etc.
  • Develop existing technical and IT capability to support baseline statistical modeling and integration of existing forecast platforms across the business to deliver enhanced forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure delivery of long-range volume forecasts for plan submission and mid-year review.
  • Internal measurement and reporting of demand forecasting KPIs to drive improvements in forecast accuracy and bias, working capital and customer service.
  • Provide a consolidated view of forecast trends and robustness across all Trade Channels/Categories.
  • Lead Brand/Category and Channel forecast input into Demand Review Meeting.
  • Challenge Sales/Marketing input to forecast and ensure that the volume and value forecast are aligned understood and agreed across all business units.
  • Liaise with Category & Shopper/Sales and Marketing teams to validate NPI forecasts and assumptions.
  • Recruit and develop key talent to support best in class forecast capability and performance.
  • Incorporate Sample and Promotional Packs inputs as required.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of all components of the demand forecast including:
    • Statistical baseline.
    • Promotion uplifts including cannibalization impacts.
    • Sales and Marketing intelligence and competitor activity.
    • New Product Introductions.
  • Key trends impacting market, sector, and category performance.
  • Provide support to assure effective QMS implementation.
  • Ensure have QMS compliant process in place/in use.
  • Disseminate the EHS culture across the organization, promoting a safe and accident-free work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

 

  • Bachelor's in Industrial Engineer, Logistics, or similar
  • At least 3 years as demand planner or related positions
  • With expertise managing direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management or IT
  • Ability to be proactive in leading and managing information and data from the supply chain organization
  • Organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Relationship builder
  • Strong awareness of customer service
  • Ability to apply strategic and lateral thinking to deliver large scale network solutions
  • Experience with SAP and Excel
  • Highly developed analytical skills
