ResponsibilitiesProject Design and DevelopmentVerify documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness, ensuring all references and figures match the reports.Assist in preparing project budgets.Set up banking details for executing agencies.Facilitate fund disbursement to executing agencies.Project ImplementationGuide Executing Agencies on financial reporting and templates according to project agreements.Track project internalizations and revisions through UNEP clearance processes.Prepare fund allocation documents and enter data into the ERP system.Review expenditure reports for accuracy, validity, and availability of funds, providing feedback as needed.Process expenditure records and cash advances; follow up on remittances.Notify payees on payment status and resolve issues of non-receipt.Review budget revisions and ensure agencies use correct templates.Reconcile project accounts with audit certificates.Inform agencies about upcoming financial reporting requirements.Project Evaluation and ClosureUpdate project database for revisions or closures.Provide financial information for Project Implementation Reviews, mid-term evaluations, and terminal evaluations.Assist in preparing project completion schedules and refund requests for unspent balances.General Administrative SupportMaintain and update project files, both physical and digital.File and archive documentation and maintain logs.Draft routine correspondence related to financial and budget matters.Develop and improve flowcharts for financial transaction processes.Perform other duties as assigned.Volunteer ResponsibilitiesEngage with UNV activities and reflect on voluntary work.Promote volunteerism and support the UNV Buddy Programme.Contribute articles or write-ups on field experiences for UNV publications.Encourage local use of online volunteering platforms.Expected ResultsEfficient, high-quality support to UNEP and beneficiaries.Accurate and timely project finance data.All financial reports completed within the UNV contract period.Executing agencies receive timely guidance and responses within five working days.Capacity development through coaching and mentoring.Reporting on volunteer achievements and contributions.Experience and QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related areas.Fluent in English and Portuguese.Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or accounting.ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is required.SkillsExperience with finance or administration in the UN system or international development is an advantage.Strong oral, written, and reporting skills.Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.Proficiency in MS Office applications and ERP systems.
