Role: Quality Engineer Lead
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
Work Hours: US time zone (EST)
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% remote (candidate can work from anywhere in LATAM countries)

Must Haves : Minimum 8+ years of experience in Software Testing with Agile experience and automation. Required Skills:

Automation and Tooling: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of test automation frameworks. Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Should have experience in design, develop, execute automation scripts when needed and train the fellow team members. (Please explicitly give the tools details). Should work with the automation first mindset and try to move away from manual testing. Should have worked extensively on the backend testing and must be aware of the microservices architecture. Should have experience working on kafka.(To some extent at least). Responsibilities:
Quality Strategy Development: Define and implement the overall QA strategy, aligning it with business goals and project requirements. Establish quality standards, processes, and metrics for the organization. Ensure to maintain comprehensive documentation of QA processes and standards - test plans, test cases, and test results. Should be flexible to adjust and work in a highly active work environment and be a go getter. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the QA function and implement changes. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in quality engineering and software testing. Mentorship and Reporting Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and testers. Provide guidance, support, and facilitate trainings to junior QA engineers and new team members as required. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback. Foster a culture of quality and continuous learning within the team. Work collaboratively with the development team for defect triaging and closing the defects and during any inconsistencies should be able to provide timely solutions. Generate regular quality reports, test coverage and dashboards for management review.
Technical Responsibilities Develops detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional requirements understanding the systems end to end and as per story acceptance criteria for stories in the given sprint. Ensure test plans and test cases are comprehensive and aligned with project requirements. Participates in test case reviews with business and other stakeholders, makes necessary updates and should be able to cross-examine the test scenarios' effectiveness. Should be able to handle the end-to-end testing in a war room set up and represent his/her area as the need arises based on priority. Executes test cases, including manual and automated tests, and records test results. Should be capable of establishing the quality process. Ensure effective defect tracking, triaging, and resolution processes. Work closely with developers to understand the root causes of defects and drive improvements in code quality. Communication and Collaboration Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters within projects. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute testing activities. Communicate quality status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights. Collaborate with development, product management, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of quality practices across the software development lifecycle. Extremely sharp in communication skills and be able with various stakeholders to resolve any issues arising. Ability to be self-directed to complete assigned activities with excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to manage competing priorities ongoingly. Should have prior experience of working with globally distributed teams.
