Our History
Oxitec was formed in 2002 by Oxford University Innovation and, in 2015, was acquired by U.S.based Intrexon.
Since inception, Oxitec has pioneered work on controlling insects that spread disease and damage crops through world-class genetic engineering and the use of self-limiting gene technology. In the mid and late 2000s, Oxitec successfully deployed genetically engineered insects in select locations in the USA, Caribbean, South America, and has continued to grow these projects, expanding to new regions and countries.
In 2016, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a positive recommendation in support of Oxitec's self-limiting mosquitoes (OX513A) for a planned pilot in response to the Zika virus outbreak. Oxitec continues to engage with communities around the world that are in need of effective, scalable solutions to combat the dangerous vectors that threaten lives and livelihoods.

Purpose of the Job
If you are a highly motivated and dedicated, Production Manager you could be the right person to join our team.
We are looking for a proactive and engaged professional who will help to ensure we meet the production demands in new facility. You will share with us a passion for delivering our mission, the willingness to serve, endless curiosity about our activities, and the creativity to always pursue better solutions.
**Responsibilities**:
Manage the production functions of the operations unit;
Translate the production strategy into action plans, and ensure implementation;
Ensure adherence to required Safety and Quality standards;
Contribute to the strategic and operative planning of the operations unit (e.g., with respect to investments, maximizing capacity and headcount planning, reducing scrap, improving Overall Equipment Efficiency);
Ensure the achievement of production targets, according to internal and external customer expectations, and sales demands;
Work to improve material flow, shopfloor management and 5S;
Ensure effective integration and training of production employees;
Demonstrate leadership, development, and coaching skills.
Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
University degree, preferably in production engineering or a related technical discipline;
Professional experience in various production functions, with cross functional experience e.g., in engineering, quality, supply chain or LEAN manufacturing, problem solving tools preferred;
Previous leadership experience, preferably in operational units with responsibility for other people across multiple functional areas;
Experience of working with international teams about production topics;
Able to negotiate;
Strong collaboration skills across a globally diverse organisation, working within differing international cultures;
Proficient in English is mandatory.
