Sales Account Manager (South America)


We would like to fill this position with someone with an individual that either has own business of which we can contract to as a full-time dedicated source to Poynting or an individual that is willing to come on as an Employee on Record but will be a fulltime dedicated resource to Poynting.


Job Objectives

To grow and manage a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients, and actively seek new sales opportunities in the assigned region ensuring conversion rate is applied and revenue generated to reach sales targets, as well as conduct training, market research, participate in exhibitions and other marketing events, etc.


Business Development

  • Identify and grow opportunities within assigned territory
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities using relevant business social platforms such as LinkedIn etc.
  • Conduct regular cold calling and sales
  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
  • Achieving new business sales targets and improving conversion rate
  • Attend to incoming calls and or emails
  • Follow up on incoming calls, emails and past customers to find new opportunities
  • Discuss with potential customers as per price guidelines given, looking to maximize profits
  • Convert leads into sales opportunities
  • Provide Customers with indicative quotations and proposals (formal quotations and sales documentation is handled via in-house order desk located in SA)
  • Train and transfer knowledge on products and solutions to support business partners in promoting the sales of Poynting products
  • Ensure all administration and reporting relating to sales is completed effectively.


Account Management

  • Plan, execute and manage pipeline in line with the sales strategies for assigned portfolio as given by MD
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships within assigned portfolio
  • Communicate with assigned customers to understand their needs and explain product value
  • Analyze customer database to track trends and needs of customers
  • Develop new business with existing clients, introducing new products to customers and identify opportunities within existing customer portfolio
  • Train and transfer knowledge on products and solutions to support business partners promoting the sales of Poynting products
  • Plan approaches and giving sales presentations as required, participate in exhibition and other events as well as promotion activities agreed to support
  • Discuss with existing customers as per price guidelines given, looking for profitable growth
  • Achieving Sales targets and improve conversion rate within assigned portfolio
  • Provide Customers with indicative quotations and proposals (formal quotations and sales documentation is handled via inhouse order desk located in SA)
  • Collaborating with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment
  • Ensure all administration and reporting relating to sales is completed effectively.


After Sales Services

  • Keeping accurate records pertaining to assigned customer accounts
  • Resolving complaints and providing inputs (where applicable) to improve processes.
  • Provide improvement suggestions and market research to management
  • Maintain customer retention through continued follow up
  • Ensure all administration and reporting relating to sales is completed effectively


Administration and Reporting

  • General correspondence and administration completed accurately and timeously
  • Email, inbox and data managed timeously and effectively
  • Professional image maintained in all communication
  • All reporting and feedback requirements met, and reports completed accurately and timeously, according to company requirements
  • Adhere to departmental processes and standard operating procedures
  • Supply statistics and information as requested

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven Track record of selling and building relationships with key accounts

• An understanding of how to use social channels such as LinkedIn to generate leads

• High degree of computer literacy

• Great verbal and writing skills in English

• 3 – 5 Years’ experience in a similar role

• A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.


Languages

• Must be proficient in English and Spanish.

• Portuguese will be an added advantage.
